Here is a wiring diagram for anyone wishing to convert their machine from 6v to a 12v electrical system. It also includes the addition of a Boyer Bransden electronic ignition kit and combined Lucas regulator/rectifier.
One very important safety point for anyone who converts a machine from the original 6v to a 12v system is to ensure a suitable fuse is added into the system. In the wiring diagram shown, a 25 amp fuse is added to the wiring loom from the battery.
It's also worth noting once the machine has been converted to a 12v electrical system (alternator now 12 volt with green/black and green/yellow joined), there is no 'Emergency Start' provision within the ignition switch.
