A Moment Frozen in Time
by Steve Jackson
The story of how I came by my first Tiger Cub is on the introduction page of this website. It was with me for many years and many adventures, but one particular moment is indelibly etched into my mind and for me encompasses everything a Cub is.
It was a dark, cold, bleak and snowy February morning over 40-odd years ago now. There was a thick covering of snow on the ground, I was on an early shift and I had to make it into work.

For some reason (and for the life of me I cannot remember why), my only means of getting there on that particular morning was my Cub.

I hadn't used (or even started)  it for some time, and I had a journey to undertake of around ten miles in treacherous conditions.

I well remember clearing the snow from the drive and pulling the Cub out of the garage.

The battery was flat, so I turned the ignition to 'Emg', pulled the fuel tap to 'On' and more in hope than anything else put my foot on the kickstart lever.

A couple of kicks later the engine burst into life and after a bit of a precarious journey, we made it on time.

It's a moment frozen in time but one that will stay with me forever.
