A well-travelled Terrier

I have always wanted to own Triumph Terrier, since the days many years ago when I had D14/4 BSA Bantam.
These little bikes don’t come up very often, so when 102 EMP came up for sale I had to have it. The bike is not concours but has been restored to a running order and came with the original log book and certificate of dating. The bike came out the factory 30th December 1954 but was not registered until 21st April 55. She spent the first 8 years in the Middlesex area before arriving in Keynsham, just outside Bristol. It was owned for one year before being sold to the owners' next door neighbour, as highlighted on the original log book. After a few years it then moved on to an area of Bristol where I grew up and then across the city with the same owner. From there it moved to Cornwall then back up to Winchester where I purchased the motorcycle. |
I was told by the owners' friend he wanted to restore a Terrier and was put in touch with a chap who had four of them so they purchased two, one being mine the other is now an on-going project.
102 EMP has had a full engine rebuild, new wheels, exhaust and all chrome work refurbished. It just needs centre stand, rear chainguard and some tlc on paintwork and she'll be ready to go.

It feels like when I bought her, she came home where she once graced the roads of Bristol and the surrounding area. It just happens the two owners who had the bike in Keynsham lived in the road where one of my old friends still lives. He is in his 90s, so I think there will be more to tell sometime...
